This paper tries to analyse the complex educational relation between Rilke and Rodin. In the period when the young writer was an assistant to the famous artist, the relationship of cooperation became for the former an opportunity for radical rethinking of the meanings of art through Rodin’s plastic re-description of matter and form, truth and beauty.
